India has many identities. The protagonist of the show is a strong headed female 'Pratigyaa' who belongs to a reputed family in Allahabad and is well educated. She considers herself very lucky to be born in a broad minded family where she has been given an equal opportunity and wants to make a mark in the society. Pratigyaa is the pride of her parents and also a source of inspiration for her younger sister.

At the other end of spectrum is an irresponsible and a chauvinist male, Krishna, who has devised his own concept of love. He believes that love is all about possession and hence wants to own Pratigyaa at all costs. He is obsessed with her and starts interfering with each and every aspect of her life. However the uneducated Krishna is a complete mismatch for Pratigyaa and he doesn't even exist for her.

The news of Krishna's obsession with Pratigyaa spreads like a forest fire in the small town of Allahabad and her parents become very worried. They desperately want to secure the future of their daughter by getting her married to a well educated and settled boy. However Krishna might not take too kindly to this and the story traces Krishna's reaction to Pratigyaa's decision.

'Pratigyaa' is a drama that provides a sneak peek into the mindsets of men in the small towns of India.
